College, Hasidic Reggae, BB Survey, Dumb Idea, TSOTWC
Items:
- Unlocked Wordhoard on the nuts and bolts of running a college class.
- Those of you into Hasidic reggae & hip-hop will be pleased to hear there is a new Matisyahu album coming out soon.
- Here's Boing Boing's second annual readership survey.
- Annalee Newitz on a dumbass idea to stop the Internet from having dirty pictures.
- If you're someone who likes Mongolian peasants and likes camels, then this movie is for you. (Note: This has nothing to do with the prior bullet point.) We watched TSOTWC the other day and liked it a lot. It kind of reminded me of some of the work done by Robert J. Flaherty (i.e. Nanook, Man of Aran, Louisiana Story) in that it was a "scripted" documentary, or maybe a scripted "documentary." (And yes, I thought of Flaherty almost as soon as the movie started, certainly before I read what the guy in the second link said.)

That Newitz story is great. The CP80 site had an unintentionally funny link to a story about athiests swapping Bibles for porn:

Unintentionally, that is, in the sense that they found it horrifying and I found it hilarious.
