Updates and Other Things
Updates:
- Update #1: Author John Updike responds to the Kevin Kelly article about the Super-Mega-Digi-Book of the future. Like I always say, there are some people that are going to make a big deal out of it when they finally come to put the chips in our heads. Updike sounds like one of them. I'm kind of looking forward to it!
- Update #2: More on the concept of serendipity via the Web vs. via the bookshelf.
- Update #3: This blog is now the #1 Google hit for the phrase "Trutech Sucks." and the #19 Google hit for "Trutech." That'll show 'em.
Non-Updates:
- Currently watching the excellent documentary series The First World War: The Complete Series. (Not watching it on a Trutech DVD player, either.)
- Here's Art Gone Postal. I like it!
- I don't neccessarily agree with all the conclusions of this Blowhard post on the racial and social implications of the 1933 King Kong, but I'm going to reread it later and see what I think then.
- Finally, happy birthday to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle!
